Weekly Walker: Hike the Grand Purisima Loop Saturday

Join San Carlos hiking enthusiast Tom Davids this Saturday, July 15 for a challenge hike through a redwood forest with incredible views of the Pacific.

July 13 (Saturday) our Challenge Hike is the 10 mile Grand Purisima Loop.  This hike starts on Skyline Blvd. and includes fine views to the Pacific, a winding trail through deep redwood forest down to Purisima Creek, and a 1600ft elevation gain back to Skyline. The hike up to Skyline is quite sunny and can be hot.

This 10 mile hike is rated strenuous and will take about 6 hours. Bring water and a lunch. There are toilet facilities at the trail head and in the canyon. No dogs allowed. There is a $5Park and Rec. fee per hiker.

We will carpool from the SamTrans garage (500 block of Laurel St.) leaving at 8am and returning by 4pm. If you drive direct, the parking lot and trailhead is located on the west side of Skyline Blvd., 4.5 miles south of the intersection with Highway 92.
