Stormy Weather Ahead for San Carlos This Week

Rain to last most of the week.

Rain is in the forecast for the Bay Area throughout the rest of this week as a slow-moving storm system is expected to stick around for a few days, a National Weather Service forecaster said.

The drizzle that began this morning will likely last until the weekend, forecaster Rick Canepa said.

The wet weather is expected to bring half an inch to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall to the Bay Area, with more in hilly areas, Canepa said.

Showers will continue into Wednesday, and another storm system will roll in on Thursday, he said.

Thursday night and early Friday could bring a dusting of snow to Bay Area peaks above 3,000 feet, Canepa said.

While the storms are passing through, high temperatures will likely be in the low to mid-50s, he said.

The good news, Canepa said, is that the clouds are expected to clear and the temperatures to rise by the weekend.

"There's definitely some light at the end of the tunnel," he said.
