Oktoberfest Coming Back to San Carlos

Organizers say they want to get back to a smaller, more intimate venue, such as the Hiller Aviation Museum.

[Editor's note: The following is a posting from the Peninsula Oktoberfest page, and updates can be found at Facebook.com/penoktoberfest.]

Big news from the Peninsula Oktoberfest today. The event is moving from Redwood City to the Hiller Aviation Museumthis October.

Many people have started asking “Why the change from downtown Redwood City?” A valid question. Peninsula Oktoberfest has become very popular now that it is going into its fourth year.

With popularity comes extra challenges, challenges that put extra burden on the volunteers that run the event. Peninsula Oktoberfest wanted to get back to a smaller more intimate event. Looking for a new venue it became obvious that the Hiller Aviation Museum would be a perfect location with its large outdoor space and central location on the peninsula. There is also indoor space just in case it rains like it did the first year (some of you remember that).

Here’s what will be new:
FREE and EASY parking
Clean indoor restrooms
Limited tickets will be sold to help avoid long lines
Cool airplanes to check out

What won’t change:
Beer!
Food!
Music!

Keep your eye on the City of San Carlos Facebook page and the Hiller web page www.hiller.org for more details as it gets closer to OKTOBER!
