From Family Heirlooms to Funky Hats, Something for Everyone at The Family Tree

All proceeds from The Family Tree benefit Peninsula Family Services.

It's hard to believe prices could go any lower, but starting Thursday, everything at The Family Tree in San Carlos is marked down even further during the monthly half-off sale, including this grandMOTHER clock, which was donated to The Family Tree by the Clocksmith of San Carlos.

According to The Family Tree manager Linda Westerhouse, the clock originally sold for $3,000.00.

"The couple that purchased it moved out of state. They did not want to transport it due to the cost. They gave it to the Clocksmith, one of our angel givers."

Westerhouse says the clock has been refurnished and is now on the floor of the shop priced at $950. She added that the Clocksmith owners have offered to deliver and set up the clock if it is purchased locally.

The Family Tree, located at 1589 Laurel St., is deftly run by the all-volunteer Red-Car-Bel Auxiliary. All proceeds from the sale of the clock and everything else benefit Peninsula Family Services (PFS).

Since 1968 The Family Tree has donated over $1 million to PFS (formerly known as the Family Service Agency of San Mateo County).

Linda and her staff invite San Carlos Patch readers in to stop in this weekend to browse their selection of books, dishes, knick-knacks, clothing, and one giant clock.
