Finding a Spot: City Studies Downtown Parking Inventory

Two community meetings will be held in June for merchants and residents to give input into the downtown San Carlos parking situation.

The City of San Carlos's Community Development Department is working with a consultant on a comprehensive inventory of all downtown parking, both public and private.

The study will assess how many downtown parking spaces are being used on certain days and times, and for how long. It will also use the parking usage data from the city’s Smart Parking pilot program on the first three blocks of Laurel Street.

When complete, the city staff plans to share this information with downtown merchants and San Carlos residents. The public will also have an opportunity to provide input before the study is completed. The draft study will then be presented to the six-member parking advisory committee and the City Council. Two meetings will be scheduled for merchants and residents to hear from the consultant team and City staff, ask questions, and provide feedback.

Meetings will be held on:
Wednesday, June 19, 2013 8:30 am – 9:30 am
Piacere Restaurant, 727 Laurel Street

Wednesday June, 19, 2013 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
First Baptist Church
787 Walnut Street San Carlos, CA 94070
