Freezing overnight temperatures will continue in many parts of the Bay Area early this week before a slight warming trend begins Wednesday, a National Weather Service forecaster said.
After Wednesday, temperatures are expected to return to normal for this time of year, which usually sees lows in the 40s -- rather than in the 20s and 30s as seen in the past few days, forecaster Steve Anderson said.
"It's not warm, but warmer," Anderson said of the approaching weather system.
Many areas, including in the North Bay, the Santa Clara Valley and the Santa Cruz Mountains, have been experiencing freezing and below-freezing temperatures overnight.
The next seven days should be dry, Anderson said. This weekend will see some areas breaking into the 60s, he said.
