We are excited to announce that Dr. Laura Mayer joined our practice in June 2013.
Dr. Laura Mayer came to us from Atlanta, Georgia, where she was an associate dentist at two practices. She moved to California due to her husband's job, and is enjoying living in the city.
Dr. Mayer decided at age 10 that she wanted to become a dentist because of her fascination with teeth. She attended Emory University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. Dr. Mayer attended dental school at Texas A&M's Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. She graduated top of her class at Baylor, receiving the Eleanor J. Bushee Senior Woman Dental Student Award and Dean's Honor. She then returned to Georgia to complete a one-year General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where she was trained in implant placement and restoration, IV sedation, and exanded scope oral surgery/grafting techniques.
Dr. Mayer is an active member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association. She enjoys volunteering for community health and oral cancer screening events, and she ans her husband both enjoy hiking and biking.
We are confident that Dr. Mayer's gentle touch and warm personality will allow you to relax in the dental chair. We are thrilled to have found the perfect match for our team, and we hope you get the chance to meet her soon!
