Toys, Groceries, Trendy Jeans or Perfume — On Your Doorstep in Hours Via New Google Service

You can have items from retailers including REI, Target or American Eagle delivered within hours via a new Google service.

Google debuted its new express shopping service to a limited Bay Area market Wednesday, offering local residents the convenience of having everything from toys and groceries to trendy clothing or beauty products delivered within hours.

The Mountain View-based company is partnering with more than a dozen retailers to bring goods to your doorstep within three to five hours (at certain times of day) for just a $5 fee.

It's a compulsive online shopper's dream. Got a sudden hankering to pick up a new canoe from REI? Maybe you can have it in your driveway by this afternoon.

The service is initially available in San Francisco, on the Peninsula and in the South Bay.

Would you use this new service or does it just seem a little too Yuppie indulgent? Tell us in the comments.
