San Carlos Center Construction Update: August 2012

To keep the San Carlos community informed of construction progress of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation's San Carlos Center , we'll be sending short monthly summaries.

There is already a lot of activity at the site, seen here in an aerial shot taken in July 2012. To date, 500 piles have been driven and the foundation will be completed by the end of the year. The Skanska construction crew is currently working on underground plumbing and electrical utilities.

We hope to have a camera on site in the next month or two so people can watch construction live on the web. I’ll share the link when the camera is rolling.

Beginning in November, steel I-beams will be erected so by the end of 2012, the basic form and interior skeleton should be complete. Construction of the parking garage will be roughly 40 percent complete by end of this year.
