Political Pez Dispensers Help Local Charity

The Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorabilia is debuting two rare dispensers, with proceeds benefiting InnVision Shelter Network.

This weekend, the Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorablia presents candy for a cause. On Saturday, the museum will debut two extremely rare Pez dispensers: a Democratic Donkey and a Republican Elephant.

All proceeds collected at the Museum while these dispensers are on display over the weekend will be given to InnVision Shelter Network, a Burlingame-based nonprofit aimed at ending homelessness and providing homeless services.

Pez Candy Inc. created the dispensers as a gift to the current U.S. President in 1961. Currently only three Democratic Donkey dispensers are known to exist and only nine Republican Elephants.

The dispensers received an estimated value of between $20,000 and $25,000.

Museum owner and curator Gary Doss recently flew to Philadelphia and purchased these dispensers.

The Museum requests a $10 donation on Saturday and Sunday to view the rare political dispensers. Guests will also have access to the rest of the museum.
