Helifest Comes To San Carlos

This weekend, the Helicopter show will dazzle as people from all over the Bay Area come out for the event.

The Hiller Aviation Museum will host Helifest for the first time ever on June 18 & 19, as people from all over the Bay Area will flock to San Carlos. The event will be from 10 am-4 pm.

"It's one of the big events in San Carlos every year," said assistant city manager Brian Moura. "People come from all over the Bay Area to see the pilots and the show. Great family fun event."

The Vertical Challenge Helicopter Air Show has been a huge attraction for 11 years, and this year it's been revamped.

"HeliFest showcases military and commercial helicopters on display and open to the public for two, full days," the Hiller website said. "Increasingly strict federal regulations regarding air shows combined with the economic challenges faced by commercial and government helicopter operators, at both the local and state level, have made it necessary to modify Vertical Challenge," the site explained.
