INTIMATE LOZERE in watercolors by French and local artist Bernard Renot
Bernard Renot, French painter born in 1935, living in California since 1985, is a passionate of life; he likes to invent life, not merely copy it. Renot is an instinctive painter, entirely self-taught, growing in character and control over 50 years of métier.
In this exhibition he will feature a series of watercolors speaking about the soulful landscapes of the Lozere region, in Southern France, region that he adopted as home when he was a teenager.
Renot's work includes also oil and acrylic paintings, sculptures, and pastels. He likes to search on an ongoing basis and tries different things to see where they lead to. A fluid drawing and strong colors, tempered by an artistic reflection, are his signature; like a calligraphy they mirror the man behind the brush.
