San Carlos' Traffic and Circulation Commission Member Margaret Pye discovered a unique piece of art Wednesday.

San Carlos may not host its own fireworks display on the Fourth of July, but the city celebrates in its own way.

There was at least one block party planned within city limits, with a clear view of the Redwood City Fireworks Show.

Earlier in the day, Traffic & Circulation Commission Member Margaret Pye found a unique work of art, courtesy of an anonymous resident, on display in the Laurel Street Park.

It appears to be a tribute to both Uncle Sam and the common folk, with an American flag raised to the sky in one hand and red, white and blue balloons held in tow with the other hand.
