San Mateo County has its third confirmed flu-related death of a patient under the age of 65, according to a spokesperson for the San Mateo County Health System.

Officials say two individuals had underlying medical conditions and one individual had no known underlying medical conditions. Two cases are confirmed as H1N1 and H1N1 information was not available for one case.

Here's where to get your flu shot in San Carlos.

The county has eight flu-related ICU hospitalizations.

For privacy reasons, the SMC Health System follows California code and does not release any information that may alone, or in combination with other publicly available information, reveal the individual's identity.

Health officials are urging everyone ages 6 months and older to get vaccinated.

The peak of flu season is between January and March, and the vaccine takes about two weeks after inoculation to be fully effective, according to health officials.
