The San Carlos Youth Advisory Council (YAC) in cooperation with the City of San Carlos Parks & Recreation Department will be conducting the Youth Vote Election at the San Carlos Youth Center, 1001 Chestnut Street in Burton Park, San Carlos.

Youth will take on issues that include choices on the presidential candidates as well as State, Regional and Local candidates and ballot measures.  The Youth Vote ballot mirrors that of the voting population by including elected positions, state propositions, and local measures.

The Youth Vote Polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for students to vote during the school day on class field trips and after school.

In an age where elections run so close and votes mean so much, teaching youth civic duty, how to vote, and the importance of voting is becoming more critical.  Youth Vote results will be posted in the Youth Center, on the San Carlos City website.

Information on the event will be provided to the San Carlos community and to City officials.  The 2012 Youth Vote Election will not only provide an election for students but also will become the voice of youth for San Carlos in 2012.
