If you look at these photos in sequence, you'll notice that photographer Tom Kramer captured a tree on Cedar Street in various stages of coming down---from the initial cut to the toppling of the leafy part of the tree, to the remaining trunk, and finally, the stumps on the ground.

will be removed this week. The trees were earlier this year. Barricades have been set up in the area along Cedar, Arroyo and Chestnut streets warning residents and visitors not to park there while the tree removal is being conducted.

According to the San Carlos Parks & Recreation Department, following the removal, new irrigation will be installed and will begin. The variety of new trees includes: London Plane, Ginkgo, Hackberry, Scarlet Oak, Autumn Blaze, Rebud, Chinese Fringe, Amur and Three Flower Maple.
