Docs and Donations: The Ultimate Fall Clean-Up Event

This Saturday you can shred those old documents and donate all those gently-used items you've been meaning to purge, all in one spot!

If you're not inspired to do some fall clean-up this Saturday, don't blame the City of San Carlos. Between a city-wide garage sale, a free shredding event and a Goodwill drop off, there's no reason not cruise lean and mean into the holiday season.

This Sat., Sept. 29 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., bring your personal documents and confidential materials for a safe and secure destruction during the free shredding event in the Caltrain lot at Holly St. and El Camino Real. (Limit of boxes 10" x 12" x 15"; bring proof of San Carlos residency.)

In addition to the shredding event, donations of clothing, shoes, computers, electronics, small appliances and housewares will be accepted by Goodwill at the same location. Bring the Goodwill Donation Form from the Goodwill web site and it will be signed by Goodwill for tax deduction purposes at the event.

According to information provided by Goodwill, high-quality women’s clothing and housewares are particularly needed. As a rule of thumb, if you would give it to a friend or a relative, it’s perfect for Goodwill. For a list of items that Goodwill can accept, go to www.sfgoodwill.org
