Bianchini’s Celebrates 4 Years With BBQ Saturday

Come on down and let the police chief flip you a burger.

Who has the best BBQ skills in San Carlos? Is it Mayor Bob Grassilli? Police Chief Greg Rothaus? Perhaps it’s a San Carlos firefighter?

Find out on Saturday in the parking lot of Bianchini’s Market on Laurel Street as the market celebrates its fourth anniversary in San Carlos.

In addition to BBQ, the anniversary bash will include wine and beer tasting and food from other San Carlos eateries.

Family owned and operated, which occupies the old Foodville site at 810 Laurel St., is widely known for its friendly butchers and its expansive meat department.

Al Bianchini, father of current owners Kevin and Chris, was a butcher, as was his father. Those who have been around San Carlos for a while may recall the old Bell Market and the Pepper Tree Market before that.

Brothers Kevin and Chris Bianchini own with their mother, Joyce. Kevin is a retired Woodside firefighter, and Chris is an active full-time San Carlos firefighter. Al passed away in 2004; many of the butchers in the store were his apprentices.

Bianchini's has a sister store in Portola Valley.

The Bianchini family has made a commitment to give back to the community. They and are known for supporting many local causes including SCEF and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Activities League.
