Steve Oshita of San Carlos and Kent Muhlker of Belmont hit the road Wednesday in Kent's 1962 Corvette to join other Corvette enthusiasts for the 2012 NCRS National Convention in San Diego. The convention will highlight the 50th anniversary of the '62 Corvette.
The pair will travel down State Route 1 and will join Corvettes along the way forming a hundreds-strong convoy as they converge on San Diego on Saturday.
According to the NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society), the 1962 model was so unique, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed its last day of production in 1962 as "America's Sports Car Day."
Score Patch Points by telling us the names of the characters in the 1960s show "Route 66" that featured two young adventurers and one cool car. (And yes, correct spelling counts.)
