Gusto Opens in San Carlos

Acclaimed Chef George Morrone takes Executive Chef Role

November 19, 2013 - San Carlos, Ca—Today marks the beginning of a new era for Limone as it has officially switched from a more casual Italian space to a more formal small-plate destination, Gusto. Executive Chef George Morrone crafted the menu to reflect his culinary tenure at iconic places like San Francisco’s Fifth Floor and Aqua.

Menu items include a Classic Shrimp Bisque ($10), George’s Timeless Tuna Tartare with Pine Nuts, Asian Pear, Chilies and Sesame Oil ($22), and Beef Tenderloin with Barolo Butter and Parsnip Purée ($26). Morrone will head the kitchen as he also continues to consult at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Tiburon.

Owner Enzo Rosano created a modern space with chandeliers, black velvet–backed wooden chairs, and a tufted white upholstered banquette, which help carry the more formal menu. Look for champagne by the glass and wine flights.

The rear of the restaurant remains a private event space with two separate dining rooms separated by glass doors, each accommodating 20 and 10 guests. Both rooms are fully wired and routinely host the area’s tech demographic. Buyouts are available, with Rosano already booking the space through the New Year.
