San Carlos Welcomes New City Engineer

Matt Lee previously worked for the San Francisco County Transportation Authority overseeing major projects such the Central Subway and Transbay Terminal.

It’s been a busy few months in the city’s Public Works Department. Staff members from PW and Human Resources have been recruiting for several vacant positions, and in the latest issue of the San Carlos City Council newsletter, the city announced the hire of Matt Lee as new city engineer.

Lee, a resident of San Francisco, previously worked as a senior engineer for the San Francisco County Transportation Authority where he oversaw major projects such as the Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit, Central Subway, Presidio Parkway, High Speed Rail and Transbay Terminal. In addition, Lee has worked for City of Brisbane, Kiewit Pacific Construction, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and Sacramento County Department of Transportation.

Lee has an undergraduate degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering from UC Davis and a master’s degree in Structural/Earthquake Engineering from San Francisco State University. He is a licensed civil engineer, is certified as a Project Management Professional, and is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
