POLL: Rate the Performance of the Sheriff's Office on Law Enforcement Services
Half Moon Bay and San Carlos residents: weigh in here.
In October 2010, San Carlos was the first city in San Mateo County to outsource their police force to the Sheriff's Office. Just eight months later, Half Moon Bay dissolved their 50-year-old police department and contracted with the Sheriff as well in June of last year. Millbrae joined the fold last December. All three cities cited significant cost savings as reasons for their decisions.
Pacifica is now the latest city in San Mateo County which is considering contracting out with the Sheriff.
Now that some time has passed, Patch is interested in finding out how Half Moon Bay and San Carlos residents rate the performance of the Sheriff's Office in handling law enforcement services.
Weigh in by voting in our poll here.

I too agree with Debbie and Janet. I am happy to see alot of Police. Crime is going up, and we need them. People from Oakland are becoming a presence on the Penninsula. I just read they caught 2 in Atherton where there have been a rash of break-in's, along with our own city. The more police the better!!!
