Locanda Positano: Laurel Street's Newest Italian Restaurant

The Italian restaurants looks to open in just a few weeks.

The finishing touches are being put on the newest addition to Laurel Street: Locanda Positano, the latest venture from the Rosano brothers who own AcquaPazza in downtown San Mateo expected to open in two weeks.

"It's going to be an amazing restaurant," said owner Enzo Rosano. "San Carlos needed a true Italian restaurant and this is exactly the place."

Rosano, who with his two brothers are opening their second restaurant, claimed the restaurant would have "one of the best pizza's in the Bay Area, and cited the "wood burning stoves and chefs from Europe" as reasons this eatery will outshine the competition.

The Italian haunt will have a modern, sleek feel, a design created by San Carlos' own Jaime Belew, who was lead architect on the interior design.

Today on Laurel Street, painters stood on ladders, adding detail to the restaurants decor adjacent to the mural painted of a quaint Italian village.
